Church Mens camp 3 Oct 2005

The church men organized a trip over to cape upstart. I went over friday afternoon with Peter and Doug, and Glen, Alfie picked us up at the boat ramp and then a quick boat ride and I mean quick! to his hut, there were about 18 Guys there, some arrived friday morning.

Some went fishing, caught fish too, sounds as though they had a good time. I was just content to laze around and enjoy the atmosphere, Played cards for awhile and talked about just about anything we could think of. On our recent cruise I thought I was finished with eating huge dinners, I was wrong, I gave it a nudge over the cape too. I will have to cut down next week? I was told by one of the guys the oysters were good over here, not for me though, Yuk
A nice place to unwind until somebody (who will remain nameless) woke us up sunday morning at 5am with a shout GLORY! and banging on the door, my nerves will never be the same.

See yah soon.

Mt St Helens

This place is awesome, miles around the place is devastated, trees knocked down and some sheared off and within about 5 miles nothing will grow. 10 miles weeds, fifteen miles some trees are coming back, after 25 years it still looks sureal.

Dion & Mardi Drove us down to Portland to see the Spruce Goose, and as it happened there was an Air Show going on over the road at an airfield, the place was called McMinville, there was all sorts of air craft flying and on display, I was in aeroplane heaven.
We stayed the night at the Red Lion Hotel and the next day on to Mt St Helens, it took us about 4 hrs to get there, you can see it was a bit hot and glary.

Dion & Mardi's Wedding

Wedding setup dinner
Wedding setup dinner,

The wedding went great on Dion's Roof top, Dion had three levels for the wedding celebration the lower level for nibbles and drinks when we first arrived, then the next level(his apartment) for the food, and the kitchen where the personal chef was working then the roof-deck for the band and dancing and more food, the sun didn't go down till 9:pm so we partied late, so there was three bars and dring waiters everywhere, one of the best weddings I have seen.
The day before the wedding Dion & Mardi shouted everyone a ride on the Duck tour its an army truck that can go on water also, it went through the city and then on lake union, it was like a party on the water, http://www.ridetheducksofseattle.com/main.htm there is a lot of water here so just about everyone has a boat or yacht. and sea planes taking off every minute. right in the middle of the city.

After the wedding we go on the Cruise.

see you later. Can't upload photos on the ship!

On the way back from Brisie the Queensland Gov was kind enough to take this photo of our vehicle, mind you it cost a bit much, I could have taken it with my new digital a lot cheaper.

Easter at Rick's Hut

Easter at Ricks Hut

Mum and I hooked up the caravan and headed for the lovely Elliott river resort, ha Ha
My Brother Rick and his wife are a peach of a couple and great friends, their hut or beach house is made of corrogated iron, cement floor and sits right on the bank of the river.
He has been a bit worried about the Dingo's comming in close and pinching his sand shoes lately.
We didn't do any fishing on this particular week end, we just sat around talked, ate and drank, nice time, Robert and Leanne were there also, one evening Robert cooked up a roast in the camp oven, beef & potatoes.

Christmas 2004

We had a great time at Alica & Dave's place, the weather was just perfect, nice and cool. We went to the beach, Alicia loves the beach hey?
We went and visited Lesley's cousin Janet Neil in Nambour, she drove us around to look at some land for sale, I didn't like any to expensive.
Alicia & Dave showed me how to play xbox and we went around to some friends place and linked up two tv's, and seven of us tried to blast /shoot up each other.

On Dec 31 we left Alicia's drove down to Brisbane moved into our hotel just after lunch, We stayed at the same hotel as for Steve's & Jacqui's wedding the GoodEarth on wickham terrace, Alicia & Dave came down after work that night.

And wouldn't you believe it as we were moving into the hotel Steve rang and said that we were Granparents, Jacqui had given birth to a boy a couple of hours ago.
The next day we went up to the hospital to wish them all well, and got some video that most of us have seen. if you want to see it again give me a call.
